AC MAINTENANCE
Tips on How to Prepare Your HVAC Unit for Spring
It’s springtime and that means it’s finally time for the weather to start warming up. It also means it’s time to dust off that AC unit and get it ready for the warmer months of spring and summer. Every season, it’s important that you make sure your HVAC unit is ready to go after long months of dormancy. Here are our top tips to get it ready for spring:
1. Give Your AC a Trial Run
Even though the weather may not quite warrant it yet, try turning on your AC and letting it run for a day. This is a good way to diagnose any problems you may have before you get into the full spring and summer heat. The last thing you want is to be called contractors when it’s already hot!
2. Schedule Maintenance
After you’ve run your AC unit by yourself, call our contractors to schedule routine maintenance. Professionals will be able to diagnose any problems you might not have noticed.
3. Consider Replacement
If your AC is struggling to cool down your home, it might be time to replace the AC and there’s no better time for installation than the cooler months of early spring.
4. Thermostat Upgrade
If you have an aging thermostat, a great way to keep your home cool while also saving money is to invest in a quality thermostat. Options like programmable thermostats allow you to keep your home cool while you’re there, while turning down the AC if you’re not!
5. Schedule A Spring Tune-Up
Call some companies. Have them come out and get into the nuts and bolts of your AC machinery to make sure everything is up to par. You can never be too sure and the last thing you want is for it to fail when it’s hot!
